Eric's Brooklyn BBQ [10/10]
A few weeks ago, I went to my first ever stoop BBQ. It was only the second BBQ I'd ever been to in Brooklyn (the first, the week before, was in Prospect Park). We gathered on the steps and in the little courtyard of Eric's house and lit up some charcoal. Everyone brought something to grill or beer or both, and we settled in for the afternoon. Passersby, smelling the results, stopped to chat. One asked if we were going to roast the dog. Uhhhhh, no. She seemed a bit touched.

As the day drew to a close, we learned that a few people gathered didn't know how to ride a bike. John became the guinea pig as we put him on different bikes to try to teach him to learn. One woman, walking home from the store, discovered what we were trying to do and laughed. Her laughter echoed ours and rang through the coming night.
