11 Spring Street [5]
On Sunday, I visited 11 Spring Street. The exterior of the building is a famed street art canvas, and the top floors are known for the candles that mysteriously appear in the windows. Once the home of a theater set designer, the building had recently been sold to a real estate developer. But before they turned the building into luxury condominiums, the developers decided to invite artists from around the world to come in and fill the building with artwork. Last Friday it opened for a three day exhibition. Lines snaked around the block. Yesterday, renovation work had already begun.

Over the next day or two I'll be posting bunches of photographs of the interior of the buiding at random intervals as I find time. So keep checking back for updates. Some of the work looks best bigger to see the detail and I'm thinking of putting together a mini-site of photos just of the building. We'll see.
