Security

I met Lin at the Kimmel center for a talk by Claude Steele on identity and how it relates specifically to underperformance in testing situations. We had to sign in with a guard before being allowed into the building. I signed in with Lin, but then decided to wait in the lobby in front of the guard with Jean for Steve. Five minutes later, Steve arrived and I walked through the security gate. The guard stopped me and asked me who I was. I told him that I had signed in five minutes ago. He had checked my picture I.D. at the time. I flipped back a page on his sign-in sheet and pointed to a scribble that bore a vague resemblance to my name. He nodded his head then waved me through.
